Flying SCRolls
Subjects for contemplation
These are excerpts from various mystery school initiate documents that provide key insights and instructions into various aspects of practical magic. These items can now be found in the public domain but certain selections have been made that are relevant for self study and progression.
The name "Flying Scrolls" alludes to the means by which these documents were distributed — a single copy (“scroll”) was circulated (“flown”) from one student to the next. Each recipient was instructed to send the papers after a certain period of time to another designated recipient, and that recipient to another, until the “scroll” had “flown” to all the intended recipients, at which point it was returned to the Order.
purpose Of Magickal Contemplation
Magical contemplation is the focused, deliberate, and often imaginative practice of directing attention to uncover hidden realities, cultivate personal transformation, and connect with a "beyond within". Unlike intellectual study, this form of contemplation is designed to shift one's perception of reality to gain insight and wisdom.
It aims to "pierce the veil of the ego" to stop taking sides and see reality as it actually is, rather than how the ego perceives it. This involves recognizing the sacred nature of all things.
It's a different technique than just reading or studying. It's a process of slowing down and allowing yourself to thoroughly comprehend the material you are working with. It is only after the subject material, whether concept, reading material, or object, is understood that progress to the next contemplation continues. This will not only increase your understanding, but your ability to remember and apply what you have received to future studies, ritual work, and improving your daily life.
In a broader sense, magical contemplation is a "way of seeing" that merges the physical, psychological, and spiritual to create a sense of oneness and deeper meaning, allowing the practitioner to "be" rather than just "do".

"The fairest thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true science. He who knows it not, and can no longer wonder, no longer feel amazement, is as good as dead."
-Albert Einstein
